About the Founders

Avinash Pahuja

Managing Director & CEO — India

"The best way to escape a problem is to solve it. Simple and the most effective life hack."

Avinash Pahuja co-founded ORO in 2008 with a singular conviction: that Indian jewellery manufacturing could be world-class — not merely in craft, but in engineering precision and business integrity.

Educated at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and a Harvard Business School alumnus, Avinash brought a rare combination of technical knowledge and strategic vision to ORO. Under his leadership, ORO has grown from a Zaveri Bazar workshop into a global manufacturer with presence in over 3,000 stores across India and the Gulf.

He oversees ORO's India operations — its flagship 80,000+ sq. ft. Turbhe manufacturing campus, a team of 550+ professionals, and an innovation pipeline that now includes advanced robotics and the company's first experiential retail venture, ORO Edit.

Avinash's standard is simple: if ORO's name is on it, it must be the best.

Personal Milestone

His evolution from retail to manufacturing was marked by rigorous academic and practical training. He pursued studies in design, diamond sorting, and metallurgy, culminating in specialized training at GIA and later completing the Harvard Business School OPM in 2017. Unlike traditional manufacturing paradigms,

Avinash envisioned a highly structured, process-driven production model, setting new benchmarks in an industry largely defined by informal practices. His approach prioritized not only operational excellence but also a culture of innovation and collective progress

Life at ORO

Under his leadership, ORO Precious Metals evolved from a startup in India to a dominant global player, now supplying over 90% of Indian jewelers globally and expanding its revenue from 100 million to over a billion dirhams with a global manufacturing unit in Dubai as well. His ability to bring Swiss horological precision to precious metals manufacturing has set new benchmarks for craftsmanship and design.

“Be one of them, not above them.”
